Thapa Peak is wonderful peak to climb, rises as a massive bear of shining ice and snow. Thapa Peak is a narrowed peak on the northern side of Thapa ( Dhampus )Pass and usually snow covered but not alpine in nature.

Period of Thapa Peak climbing this trip you can enjoy with magnificent views of Dhaulagiri I (8,163m), Sita Chuchura (6,611m), Nilgiri (6,940m), Tukche Peak (6,920m), Tilicho peak (7,134m), Thorong Peak (6,484m), Yakawa Kan (6,482m), Puth Hiunchuli (7,246m), Mukut Himal (6,639m), Tangu Peak (6,197m), Hongde peak (6,556m), Tsarste (6,347m) etc.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1Arrival at Kathmandu.
  • Day 2Kathmandu.
  • Day 3Drive from Kathmandu to Beni which takes about eleven hours.
  • Day 4Trek from Beni to Maldhunga (1,300m.) which takes about six hours.
  • Day 5Trek from Maldhunga to Darbang and it takes about five and half hours.
  • Day 6Trek from Darbang to Takum which takes about 5 hours.
  • Day 7Trek from Takum to Muri and it takes about 6 hours.
  • Day 8Trek from Muri to Baghar(2,080m.).
  • Day 9Trek Baghar to Dobang (2,520m.). Here you leave the villages behind and the trial becomes increasingly challenging.
  • Day 10Trek from Dovan to Upper Vungini (Italian Base Camp) which takes about 6 hours.
  • Day 11Rest day for acclimatization.
  • Day 12Trek from Upper Vugini (Italian Base Camp) to Glacier Camp and it takes about 4 hours.
  • Day 13Trek from Glacier Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp which takes about 5 hours.
  • Day 14Trek from Dhaulagiri base camp to French Col (5,010m.).
  • Day 15Trek from French Col to Thapa pass (5,015m) and it takes about five hours.
  • Day 16Rest at Thapa Peak Base Camp.
  • Day 17Climb Thapa peak and back to Base Camp which takes about ten hours.
  • Day 18Trek from Thapa Peak Base Camp to Yak Kharka and it takes about five hours.
  • Day 19Trek from Yak Kharka to Marpha (2,670m.) which takes about five hours.
  • Day 20Trek from Marpha to Jomsom (2,810m.).
  • Day 21Early morning fly back to Pokhara by twin-water small Aircraft.
  • Day 22Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist that takes about seven hours.
