As the name suggests Ganga –Jamuna trek involves a spirited passage to the twin waterfalls Ganga –Jamuna while also including an intimate encounter with the ethnic inhabitants of the region. From here you can enjoy the thick forest along with majestic mountain vistas. This is a moderate trek.

Located in the north-west region of Kathmandu you can enjoy the Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, Manaslu range, Lamjung Himal, Himalchuli, Annapurna range and many other unnamed mountains and peaks while trekking in the Ganga-Jamuna region.

Ganga-Jamuna trek also offers pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Bhuddhists. The famous Tripura Sundari temple lies at Salyankot and anannual fair on the first week of November, 3 days before the full moon, is held around the temple.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1Drive from Kathmandu to Samari Bhanjyang(1,250m.) via Trishuli Bazaar (540m.) by bus.
  • Day 2Trek from Samari Bhanjyang to Katunje Bazaar (765m.) which takes about six and half hours.
  • Day 3Trek from Katunje Bazaar to Kintang Phedi (655m.) and it takes about five and half hours.
  • Day 4Trek from Kintang Phedi to Jharlang (1,500m.) and it takes about six hours.
  • Day 5Trek from Jharlang to Laba (1,750m.) which takes about six hours.
  • Day 6Trek from Laba to Manyang Bhanjyang (2,934m.) and it takes about five hours.
  • Day 7Trek from Manyang Bhanjyang to Majhgaun (2,200m.) and which takes approximately six hours.
  • Day 8Trek from Majhgaun to Ganga Jamuna (3,244m.) which takes about six hours.
  • Day 9Rest day at Ganga Jamuna.
  • Day 10Trek from Ganga Jamuna to Salyankot (1,100m.) which takes about six hours.
  • Day 11Trek from Salyankot to Aarughat Bazaar (500m.) which takes about six hours.
  • Day 12Trek from Aarughat Bazaar to Khanchok (1,050m.) and it takes about six hours.
  • Day 13Trek from Khanchok to Gorkha (1,143m.) which takes about six hours.
  • Day 14Drive from Gorkha to Kathmandu by bus and it takes about four and half hours.
