The Three High Passes Trek (Renjo La, Cho La and Kongma La) is the adventure of a lifetime, trekking through the Everest region over three of the world's highest passes. The Everest high passes trek offers unparalleled mountain scenery with an opportunity to explore the Khumbu region and the Everest Himalayan range. Three passes trekking offers not only views of eight thousand meter peaks, but also offers views of many Lesser Peaks including the region’s most beautiful Ama Dablam, Pumori, Cholatse, Khumbutse, Khangtega, Nuptse and Lhotse. The Three Passes Trek is well worth the amazing views and unforgettable experience of crossing three high passes. This itinerary is developed for trekkers who are looking for an adventurous & challenging mountain excursion.

On the Three High Passes Trek, you will observe the beautiful culture of the Sherpa people. The trail passes through traditional villages where Buddhist monasteries, prayer wheels and monuments abound. The trail passes through Sagarmatha National Park which is inhabited by a variety of wildlife including musk deer, blue sheep, Himalayan tahr, barking deer, blood pheasant, Tibetan snow-cock, crimson-horned pheasant, and domesticated yaks. A major attraction of Three High Passes trek is Everest Base Camp at an elevation of 5340m. Other worthwhile attractions are Kalapathar 5545m near Gorak Shep Gokyo Ri 5350m near Gokyo for the most spectacular views of Everest.

  • Day 2Fly to Lukla (2,800m) & trek to Phakding (2,652m), 3-4 hrs walk.
  • Day 3Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), 6-7 hrs walk.
  • Day 4Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar.
  • Day 5Trek to Thame, (3,800m), 3 to 4 hours.
  • Day 6Trek to Marlung, (4,137m), 4 to 5 hours.
  • Day 7Trek to Lungdeng (4,600m), 3 to 4 hours.
  • Day 8Trek to Renjo- La (5,465m) to Gokyo Lake (4,800m).
  • Day 9Relax Day at Gokyo.
  • Day 10Hike to Gokyo RI (5,330m), and trek to Thaknak (4,750m), 7-8 hrs.
  • Day 11Trek to Cho-la Pass (5,367m) to Dzongla (4,850m), 5-6 hrs walk.
  • Day 12Trek to Gorakshep (5,160m), 5-6 hrs walk.
  • Day 13Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,357m) and return to Lobuche for overnight. 6 to 7 hrs.
  • Day 14Lobuche - Kongma La (5,535m) - Chhukung (4,730m): 8-10 hrs.
  • Day 15Trek to Tyangboche (3,867m), 4-5 hrs walk.
