Druk Path Trekking

This is 6 days moderate trekking from Paro to Thimphu or vice versa. It is a picturesque route that leads you to traverse through thick alpine and rhododendron forest to the yak herder's camp and to the wonderful lakes known for the trout fish. In clear weather, one can have breathtaking views of snow capped Himalayan Mountains.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1Arrive Paro and transfer to hotel for overnight halt.
  • Day 2visit Ta Dzong and Paro Rinpung Dzong.
  • Day 3Treks start from Paro to Jele Dzong (about 4 hrs trek). Overnight camping at Jele Dzong.
  • Day 4Jele Dzong to Jangchu Lhakha (about 3-4 hrs trek). Overnight camping at Jangchu Lhakha.
  • Day 5Jangchu Lhakha to Jimilang Tsho (about 4 hrs trek). Overnight camping at Jimilang Tsho.
  • Day 6Jimilang Tsho to Simkota Tsho 9About 4 hrs trek). Overnight camping at Simkota Tsho.
  • Day 7Simkota Tsho to Phajoding (about 3-4 hrs trek). Overnight camping at Phajoding.
  • Day 8Phajoding to Thimphu (about 3 hrs trek). Upon arrival, check into hotel for overnight.
  • Day 9Visit National Library, Institute of Traditional Arts, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Folk Heritage Museum, Tashichhoedzong and Handicrafts Emporium.
  • Day 10Transfer to Airport for your next destination.
