The first summit of Mt. Ama Dablam was made by talented French team in 1979. After successes of Mt. Ama Dablam Expedition by French team, in recent few years many climbers mad successfully submitted of Mt. Ama Dablam via the original SW ridge route.

Mt. Ama Dablam located in the Khumbu valley of Nepal, only 12 km from the summit of Mount Everest. In addition, an expedition to Ama Dablam is more than just a climb it’s a journey into the heart of the Himalayas. Ama Dablam is considered to be technically difficult and a challenging peak for all mountaineers. Mt. Ama Dablam expedition is unforgettable climb in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Mt. Ama Dablam expedition trip starts and end in Lukla. Ama Dablam expedition trip offers an exciting trek up to the base camp, rock, snow and ice climbing and stunning panoramic summit views of world’s highest & most famous mountains.

Base Camp to Camp I of Ama Dablam: To reach the first camp of Ama Dablam from the base camp, climbers have to pass the toughest and the difficult passing through the difficult saddle ridges; and then should turn to the north climbing up through the rocky ground and through the boulder.

Camp I to Camp II of Ama Dablam: From Camp 1 has to cross the rocky bowl and should climb the ridge via to the fixed lines to Camp II. From Camp II after crossing over severe rocks and ridge which lead you to a camp 2.

Camp II to Camp III of Ama Dablam: The climbing route from Camp II is mostly with the steep mixed alley ways of rock & ice and snow. The route leads to the slope climb to snow ground and then passes through steep snow and ice tunnel then finally along the snow ridge go to Camp III. Summit. From here to the summit is steep climb on snow and ice to the right of a huge hanging glacier. From the Top of Mt. Amadablam very charming sceneries of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Island peak, Makalu, Khumbu Himal and rest of the snowcapped surrounded mountains can be envisioned.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 1Arrival at Kathmandu.
  • Day 2Preparation day in Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Day 3Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla takes approximately 30 minutes and then trek to Phakding.
  • Day 4Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m.) takes about 5 to 5 and a half hours.
  • Day 5Rest at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion around the places.
  • Day 6Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3,850 m.) which takes almost 5 hours.
  • Day 7Trek from Tyanboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp. Stay overnight at camp.
  • Day 8-24Climbing period for Ama Dablam. Stay overnight at camp.
  • Day 25Trek from Ama Dablam Base camp to Namche. Stay overnight at lodge.
  • Day 26Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding (2,652m.) which takes about four hours.
  • Day 27Trek from Phakding to Lukla (2,886m) which takes about three hours.
  • Day 28Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Day 29Rest day in Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Day 30Fly out from Kathmandu.
