Langtang – Gosaikunda Trek – Melamchi Gaun Trek
Langtang valley Gosaikunda Helambu trek start from Syabru Bensi which is near by Tibetan border. Langtang trek is great purposes in Nepal for trekkers. Your langtang trek begins from the village of Sybru bensi, walking on the open and lush valley. On langtang trek you will see and hear a huge number of birds and might be able to blemish other wildlife such as Wild Boar and Languor monkey. The ascent up to Tserko RI (4,984m) is a challenging climb, however it offers some of the most spectacular Himalayan views and the mountain passes are overpowering, which is a definite highlight of the trip! Another option is to undertake a shorter walk up to Kyanjin Ri.
Gosaikunda trek begin from Dhunche with spectacular views of Langtang Himalaya (7245m), Ganesh Himal (7405m), Dorje Lhakpa (6990m) and other small mountains of Langtang Himalayan range. Gosaikunda trek takes you to the complex topography and geology, together with the varied climatic conditions of Langtang National Park, giving a wide range of vegetation types (including a sub-tropical forest). Gosainkund area covered with 108 holy Lakes. Culturally the area is mixed the home of several groups including Tamang, Sherpa, Cherti and Brahaman people.
Gosaikunda trek follows a rough trail with dramatic views to the west Himal Chuli (7893meter) Manaslu (8156meter) and Ganesh Himal (7406m). On a clear day, even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind and to the north across the valley is Langtang Lirung. Gosaikunda Trek we pass a few huts in the high picture of Laurebina La, cross a small ridge and have our first views of the holy lakes. In Gosaikunda region there are numerous lakes. The main three are Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosainkunda. According to legend, Shiva created Gosainkunda when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed poison that threatened to destroy the world.
Helambu Lodge Trek is easy and provides the spectacular views of the Langtang (7245m), Ganesh Himal (7405m), Dorje Lhakpa (6990m) and other small mountains of Langtang Himalayan range. The warm and friendly people of Helambu are mostly Buddhists. Helambu village trek is an best trip for those who have a short time and like to combine both cultural scenes. Day 01: Meet at Kathmandu Airport, transfer to hotel
Day 02: Sight-seeing of Kathmandu: Leave for full day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley includes the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNISCO world heritage site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. Also visit Monkey Temple the Swyambhunath (2000 years old temple) and visit Patan city of fine arts. Back to hotel and stay.
Day 03: Drive KTM to Syabru Bensi, Drive to trekking starting point. Dhunche is about 8 hour drive which provides you mountain scenery and landscape. Stay overnight in Syabru Bensi.
Day 04: Trek Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel. Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel climb through a variety of small villages and tracts of dense forest, The trek becomes a pleasant walk through trees where Langur monkey frolic, passing a slice stream and small waterfalls. Stay overnight in Lama Hotel.
Day 05: Trek Lama Hotel to Langtang: From here short climb brings us to the right of where the Langtang valley begins as you start going up you will be able to see the beautiful view of Langtang Lirung peak. It is easy to find yak and the wild goats wondering around you. Overnight in Langtang village.
Day 06: Trek Langtang village to Kyanjing Gompa A beautiful town which provide excellent panoramic close up view of Langtang Lirung Genjempol, Ganjala and Naya Kenga Himal ranges. A visit to cheese factory, see the beautiful Buddhist Monastery built 400 years ago. It is a good experience to try to climb to Tsergo Ri (5033m)
Day 07: Rest day at Kyanjing Gompa : Explore around the glacier and Himalayan Yak pasture.
Day 08: Trek back to Lama Hotel, Trek down to Lama hotel, overnight in Lama Hotel.
Day 09: Trek Lama Hotel to Thulo Sabru (2200m). 6 hours. Overnight Thulo Syabru.
Day 10: Trek to Sing Gompa (3350m). 5 hours. Overnight in Sing Gumpa.
Day 11: Trek Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake. The trail to Lauri Binayak is steep & continues for three hours. Then the trail becomes much narrow & misty as well as change in vegetation too as the green vegetation becomes much deserted & rocky. From lauri Binayak takes about 3 hours to reach to Gosainkunda.
Day 12: Trek Gosainkunda to Ghopte. After explore around Gosainkunda, we set for another day's walk. The walk goes through a steep trail for 2 & half an hour & crosses a pass at 4500m and the trail is too rocky. After the pass the trail becomes to descend & the slope continues for about 3 hours & reaches to Ghopte for the night halt.
Day 13: Trek Ghopte to Tharepati (3510m). The trail continues through the forest of pine & juniper about 2 hour's slope up to Thadepati.
Day 14: Trek Tharepati to Melamchi. A short, steep descent through mixed fir and rhododendron forest rich with bird life. Crashing waterfalls sound from the rocky gullies below as you approach Melamchi
Day 15: Trek Melamchi to Tarkegyang. The trail descends steeply to the valley floor, where you can have a well earned dip in the crystal- clear river before completing the short and mild ascent up the other side of the valley. Tarkegyang boasts an 18th century Gompa with huge brass prayer wheel.
Day 16: Trek Tarkegyang – Sermathang. A flat pleasant walk to Shermathang for walking. This is a an entering Sherpa village and they will be happy to introduce themselves that they are different from the Sherpa of Khumbu(Everest region) In the clear day the villages provide good views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gosainkunda and Rolwaling, Even Everest also in a distance.
Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu from Melamchi then transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 18: Free day in Kathmandu for shopping, packing your own.
Day 19: Final departure or other programs.
